Biography

THE new boss of Blaze of Glory FC. Canning has some big shoes to fill as he becomes Glory's third official boss in almost five years.

A slow starter in the Glory colours, Canning has risen from perenial substitute under Phil Daniels to his role in the first choice centre-back pairing with Gary Doyle.

Not the greatest tackler of the ball, he is much more comfortable playing the ball out of defence, and enjoyed a fruitful partnership with former front-man Justin Horton - gaining several assists.

Last season Canning added to his goal tally, in a game he led the side as Captain and Manager whilst Kinch was away, a 2-2 against Anglian FC.

This season though Canning's role is much bigger, and made tougher by the loss of his trusty side-kick Keeno.
